This lawned part of the garden has thousands of naturalised Cyclamen hederifolium. Around the base of the cedar Cyclamen graecum and Cyclamen persicum are growing- it will be interesting to see how they coped with the January 2009 frosts.
Access Statement For Pencarn Bed and Breakfast
This statement is produced as part of our commitment to meeting the needs of guests with any special access/medical requirements.
Introduction
We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors to our garden. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.
Pre-Arrival
There is a bus stop in the town centre five minutes walk away. The path from the town is steep rising 50 metres. There is an infrequent bus service
The main train station (Bodmin Road) is 25 minutes away by car.
Newquay International Airport is 20 minutes away by car.
There is a local taxi service that has accessible taxis if required, we can make a booking for you.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
•On arrival at the property there are double entrance gates, these are open when the the garden is open.
No marked parking bays but there is ample room for all cars
The surface is level, flat and consists of concrete paviors.
Wadebridge town centre is a few minutes steep walk from the Bed and Breakfast
Main Entrance & Reception
•The front door has one step 10cm high. This door is 74cm wide.
•The front door is always locked but we do have a push button bell in the front door which can be reached from any height.
•On entry into our home there is a hallway 2.83 by 3.04 metres
•There is polished wood flooring with rugs throughout the ground floor
Public Areas - General (Internal)
•The door width to the ground floor breakfast room is 68cm wide
•Corridors have a good colour contrast and are well lit
•The covering on stairs and upstairs corridors is short pile carpet
•The breakfast room is on the ground floor.
•There are 12 stairs to a landing followed by a further 3 stairs to the first floor bedrooms.
•The stairs are 15cm high, 25cm deep, 77cm wide
Public Areas - WC
•Bedrooms are en suite there is a ground floor WC available- door width is 67cm.
Conservatory
•The Conservatory is on the ground floor. There are no steps
•Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request.
•Tables have underspace of 71cm high, table height of 73cm with central leg. There are chairs with arms and without which can be moved to accommodate.

Bedrooms
•There are 2 bedrooms, both on the first floor.
•There are 12 stairs to a landing followed by a further 3 stairs to the first floor.
•The stairs are 15cm high, 25cm deep, 77cm wide
•Door widths (main and bathroom) are 74cm wide and 60cm respectively.
•Accommodation is either a king size double bedded room or a twin bedded room
•At least 74cm routes within the bedroom e.g. to the side of beds, between beds and dressing table, therefore allowing for left or right transfer to beds in any combination
•Furniture is moveable on request
•Beds are 64cm high.
•Digital freeview television with remote control.
•Divan beds are provided
•One small upright chair (no arms) low height- 36cm and a dressing table stool 48cm high are provided in the room
•There is an ensuite shower room
•Fitted short pile carpet on the bedroom floor, vinyl in the shower room.
Twin ensuite Shower-room & WC
•Door width 60cm, outward opening
•Free floor space clear of door is 75cm x 87cm
•The shower cubicle has a step/edge of 29cm high.
•The basin is flat fronted and has clear underspace. It is 86cm high.
•The toilet has left side transfer with available free space of 91cm. The toilet is 43cm high
•There is a horizontal rail beside the toilet (opposite side to transfer) and 2 vertical rails either side of the toilets cistern tank.
•Good colour contrast of floors, walls, fittings and fixtures
Double ensuite shower room & WC
•Door width 60cm wide opening outwards.
•Shower cubicle edge/step is 27cm high.
•Free floor space 75cm x 70cm
•Basin is a rounded corner unit and is on a pedestal 82cm high
•Toilet is 41cm high
•Good colour contrast of walls, floor and fittings.
Grounds and Gardens
•We have a large, one acre garden, with extensive views over the town, river and countryside. The garden has flower borders, ponds, rock gardens and lawn, lots of benches available. The garden is on a slope with steps in some places but all parts are accessible via grassed ramps.
Additional Information
•Assistance dogs are welcomed.
•Mobile phone reception is good
•We are able to use the front and back doors in the need of evacuation. A gong sounds continuously if evacuation is needed. If you require more assistance for evacuating please notify us on arrival and we will ensure you are evacuated safely e.g. hearing impairment.
